Eleven weeks ago:
August 14
Another one of those weeks that I couldn't have foretold what was going to happen but it all worked out pretty well.  Monday after work I went to get groceries and was talking to Tati when Bree called me, saying that she had left and went to her parents and was going to stay there.  She had moved out.  It was over, at last.  That night I was on the phone until about 1, talking with Brian but mostly Mom.  Tuesday I got to work an hour late since I had stayed at home to have the deadbolt lock changed, which was worth every penny of peace-of-mind it brought me.  The rest of the week I was getting some things in order, mostly cleaning the apartment, which had been neglected for too long.  I also put some of Bree's stuff in boxes, to expediate things when I finally got to move her stuff out.  Thursday I left work at 6 and went home to try to call Paul but took off into Hollywood to meet up with Alecia for the Rama Duke show, that her brother [link?] was playing in.  Friday at work was an easy day: we took a long lunch and when we got back we got permission to leave and I stayed for a little bit, which wasn't a great idea since it then took me three hours in traffic to get to Riverside.  I went by the comics shop there and stopped by Target for some things then went to Tom & Tati's place and the three of us ran errands and had dinner [Family Basket] then went back to their place and we talked for a while and Tom and I watched Dr. Tran.  Saturday we got up and read and I picked up Tom from school and we ran errands and got breakfast/lunch [Coco's] then got back and got Tati and Caryn and the four of us went to the Jack FM show at Irvine Meadows.  We missed half of Violent Femmes and Caryn and I missed most of Cheap Trick as we were getting drinks, both of us celebrating as we had both just that week gotten out of some bad relationships.  We drank a lot.  A lot of the show I don't remember.  But I do know we saw Journey, which I'd waited 17 years to see (and before you ask: no, Steve Perry was not with them but it was still a fine performance).  I also met Nancy.  We all had a good time.  We got dinner [Denny's in Elsinore] on the way back but we were all too wiped-out to enjoy it much.  However, I had the chance to tell Caryn all ab out what had been going on with me recently.  That night I slept with Caryn.  Sunday we all got up and went to breakfast [Family Basket] then I went to the parents' and hung out with them for most of the day and we had a good time.  I also talked to Nancy on the phone for a while.  Mom made chicken & rice for dinner and I told them what had been going on and played cards with Taylor until late then got back home around 1 and went to bed.

*Twelve weeks ago: The week was just one of those times when a lot of things change and you really don't expect what happens.  Work was the same, a few conversations during the day including telling Tom about what was going on on Monday, and Bree started her new job, though it was just training.  Tuesday morning Bree's car got broken into and her stereo got stolen.  That night I got off work at 7 but was on the phone with Mom, then Tom, then Mom again, and didn't get home until later.  There were some things that could have happened that night as a result from a certain phone call or two but thankfully they did not.  Advice: today is probably like yesterday.  Whatever it is you're thinking of doing that can change things drastically, make sure you've given it the thought it deserves.  Wednesday night I went to the comics shop on the way home and when I got home Bree and I broke up.  She told me that she planned to move to Texas when she was done with the training for her job and she thought we could have a long-distance relationship but I thought it was a good time to break up (on the exact day that we had started dating officially, one year ago).  I'd like to think that somehow somewhere she realized it was for the better.  I won't say all bad things about the last year with her, there were a lot of really good times, but it was also the most challenging and difficult time of my life.  Immediately I felt as if a weight had been lifted off of me and Thursday was one of the best days I'd had in a long time, though I got a sinus headache halfway through the day that had me feeling out of sorts for a while.  Bree and I continued to live like we had when we were still together, which is pretty weird when look back on it.  Friday was supposed to be our anniversary (since when we started dating a year ago, we broke up for two days then got back together) and I had some drama with Bree's parents on the phone in the afternoon then got home and there might have been more drama but I got on the phone with Corey until almost midnight and Bree fell asleep in that time so I stayed up until 4 playing City of Heroes (as I started doing increasingly during the week).  Saturday was a great day: I didn't have to entertain Bree and I could do whatever I wanted.  I went through a good chunk of e-mail and went for a walk, then took a nap, then got ready for Susan's birthday party, which Bree accompanied me to.  It was a tricky occasion, with everyone thinking Bree and I were still together but it didn't stop me from having drinks and seeing some people I haven't seen in a while, most notably Luie.  Sunday was another fine day, though I didn't sleep well.  I got up around 11, did a bit of e-mail then took off on my bike to have lunch with Susan at the Coral and we talked for quite some time and I caught her up on my situation and what had really been going on with me for the last year, then I biked to the movies and saw Little Miss Sunshine, which is the best movie I saw all summer.  I left the theater and the tire on my bike was flat so I had to walk the length of Burbank, about 3.2 miles, to Priscilla's, where I had hot chocolate and read a magazine.  It wasn't so bad since I had my iPod and my phone so at least I had music and could talk to my parents.  I walked home and got there around 11 and Bree had gotten there just before me and we had an argument, maybe one of our worst, but it was different, since I knew she was leaving, it was just a matter of when.  We cleared up whatever it was about and both of us went to sleep, feeling as well as I could.

Thirteen weeks ago: Most of the week at work I was leaving later, making up some hours and maybe some extra overtime.  Most nights Bree went to sleep early, sometimes not much after I got home from work.  Monday night with Bree gone I got some writing in my journal done, then Bree came home with Angie and we hung out for most of the rest of the night, until about 3:30 when Bree took Angie home.  I had Tuesday off so I slept until around 2 then got ready and went with Bree to her doctor’s appointment and mostly read a magazine then we went to dinner then saw My Super Ex-Girlfriend then snuck into see Scoop, neither movie being that great.  Wednesday morning I took Bree to get some bloodwork done, since she doesn’t do well with that kind of thing, and went into work late, which was never a big deal.  Saturday I slept weird but got up and we got ready and ran some errands on the way out of town then out to the parents’ to talk to them and have dinner and actually had a pleasant evening and left there around 12:30 and Bree was out of it for the rest of the night.  Sunday we got up around 11 and I got some e-mail done while Bree was sleeping then we went to a counseling session which was canceled so we didn’t do that again.  After that we went to the Galleria again then had dinner then got a milkshake on the way home then kinda hung out and went to bed around 1:30.

Fourteen weeks ago: Monday was my last day before going to back to work and it was pretty standard, going through e-mail, doing computer stuff, and getting things ready.  Tuesday was back to work, on Flags.  Tired but just getting used to working again.  The rest of the week, again, fairly standard, though watching more television, mostly Leno and Conan, and Bree going to bed early (relatively).  Thursday we saw Lady in the Water (which wasn’t very good).  Friday I got home from work late and Bree was going to go out but stayed home and we both looked at City of Heroes, talked to Corey through that for a while, and I played until about 4 in the morning.  Saturday I got up at noon and did some computer stuff then biked to the comics shop and hung out with Andrea for a while then came home and Bree and I talked for a while into the evening until SNL apparently and I got Del Taco for us then we watched Dangerous Child, which Bree fell asleep during and I shouldn’t have had to watch it but I had to finish it.  Sunday we got up and got ready for an intake session for couples counseling we were going to take, which went well, I thought, then got lunch at Shakey’s, then went to the Galleria so Bree could do some shopping, then drove around Burbank killing time, then saw Clerks 2 then Miami Vice, both of which were fine, then drove into Hollywood to look for/at hookers (ah, the thrill of adventure) then back home and bed.

Fifteen weeks ago: Monday we went to Universal Studios and spent a pretty good part of the day there, including visiting my old arch-enemy the Mummy ride, then came back and Jack White had disappeared and Tweak had also gotten loose so while Bree did computer stuff, I made an impenetrable fortress out of the mouse-cage.  Later, around 3am, while I was playing City of Heroes, Jack White ran over my foot so I found him, though he bit my finger (and drew blood) while I was putting him back in his cage.  Tuesday I went to get my hair cut and went to drop off Cammie at his final resting place (PetCo) then went to Staples to get my business cards (which they screwed up) then relaxed in a nice grassy area alone and made some phone calls than came back home to work on our Supremacy game, which I’d been trying to conduct all day, and Bree made a great dinner then we talked and I got my stuff ready for the trip and she passed out on the couch.  Wednesday I got up at 9 and got ready for the convention.  Bree drove me to the Burbank Amtrak station and I met up with Andrew to take off at 11:30, taking the train to San Diego, and getting there in plenty of time to walk to his hotel then the convention and register (quickly this year) then met up with Ed, who I haven’t seen in probably a year, then some other people, then went to the convention for Preview Night.  I met Brian there and we left pretty late and went to dinner and we had a lot to talk about.  The convention was good.  I modified my plan this year, to leave Saturday afternoon instead of Sunday afternoon like I have in years past, thinking it would give me plenty of time to do everything I wanted to do, since in the past I've been burnt-out and done with it by Saturday anyway.  It was a good plan and I didn't have much planned beyond buying a few books (including Lost Girls) and seeing some friends but by Saturday I found myself running around to constantly do just one more thing.  I've become pretty efficient and know my way around the convention and seeing everything, which I feel I did this year (mostly, though I never even got to the second floor).  I stayed with Brian, which worked out well since I hadn’t seen him a lot lately, and it was probably more fun (and cheaper) than a hotel anyway.  I also didn't have much intention this year of staying out late drinking and shmoozing though I got one night of that in, which of course including hanging out with Clay.  In all, it was a good show and probably even more satisfying than it's been in a while.  I left there Saturday afternoon to take the train home and it ended up being two hours late and fairly uncomfortable.  Bree picked me up and we got dinner at the Coral then came home and watched SNL and I stayed up until about 4.  Sunday we got up around noon and Bree was sick and asleep so I played City of Heroes pretty much straight from 2 in the afternoon until 4 in the morning.  Also, during the time I was gone, Tweak and Jack White died, one of them right in front of Bree's eyes and, again, we have no idea why.

Sixteen weeks ago: Monday was my last day at DD and predictably there was nothing to do and I left.  Tuesday was my first day off for as much of the future as I could see.  That day we got up and ran errands, to Target then to Bree’s bartending class then lunch then the comics shop.  The week wasn’t much to note, watching movies, including Will & Grace (of which I admit I have become a fan, even going so far as stopping what I'm doing to watch it when it comes on at midnight), working on Supremacy, resting (as well as I ever do), and usually staying up until dawn or almost playing City of Heroes.  Wednesday evening I played a game against two people and won but it was a pretty good time.  Norman died Thursday morning.  We have no idea why or how, he was just laying in his water dish, not moving.  We had had him since September and they said mice live for 2 to 3 years but I guess it was just his time to go.  I don't think we really recovered from that but we still had Cammie.  Later we went to Costco and that evening I went to Priscilla's to hang out with the group though that was mostly Mark.  Friday we put on shorts on went to the movies, first You, Me, and Dupree, which wasn't very good, then The Devil Wears Prada, which was pretty good.  After that we went to BJ's then I had trouble getting my truck to start so we had to get AAA to come out but not a big deal.  Saturday I walked to do some errands in the morning, then had AAA come out to install a new battery in my truck, then Bree and I drove to PetCo to get two new mice, Tweak and Jack White, then went to the comics shop and talked to Andrea then came home and Austin came over to play HeroClix but he had to leave before we could really get a game going so after that Bree and I went swimming then came back in and Bree made dinner and we played Monopoly, and I crushed her twice, then I watched SNL since Bree fell asleep.  Sunday I got up around 1 and we mostly hung around the house for the day.  That night Cammie died.  He didn't seem to get along with the new mice, and he was depressed with Norman gone, but we thought he would eventually recover.  Instead, he left us as like Norman.

Seventeen weeks ago: Monday was a day off between the weekend and the holiday and we were home.  Bree wasn't feeling well so she stayed on the couch and I took care of her, between computer stuff which was mostly figuring out parts of Photoshop and getting our Supremacy game together.  That night we got Chinese for dinner and watched Who Framed Roger Rabbit? (which hasn't aged well).  Tuesday was the holiday and just for something to do we went to Amoeba for Bree's late birthday gift, which was a CD-shopping spree and I got a stack of stuff myself.  We were looking for a place to eat afterwards and she had suggested the Spaghetti Factory but the one on Sunset was closed so we drove out to Rancho, visiting her grandmother on the way, ate, then came back home and she listened to her CDs while I ripped mine to the computer.  Wednesday I was back at work at DD, working on a Listerine commercial for four days, which ended up being about two hours total of work (and that's putting in work on an Acura commercial) and so I was mostly sitting  around, getting my own personal things done, and getting paid.  It was that afternoon that Bree called to tell me her big news.  The rest of the week there was not much talking, then a lot, then just trying to get through.  Friday night we hung out for a bit then left at 10 to get an unsatisfying dinner then saw Pirates 2, which I kept falling asleep during but that wasn't so much of the movie, just me being worn-out.  We came home and went to bed around 3.  Saturday Dad came over at 8 to install ceiling fans then I went back to bed and got up around 2 to stay at home all day with Bree, have a long Supremacy conversation with Cousin Jason, go swimming, go to El Torito to pick up dinner, watch What Women Want then SNL, and a few other things before going to be around 4.  Sunday we got up at 10:30 and Bree and I ran errands, to Staples, the 99 Cent Store, and Vons, then back home and I took a nap then Bree made dinner and we watched TV then As Good As It Gets then to sleep around 2.

Eighteen weeks ago: Not much to say about the beginning of the week but it started getting hot and didn't let up for a while.  Most nights Bree slept on the couch in the living room so she could have the air conditioner and I slept in the bedroom, which was only marginally cooler than the living room would have been without the a/c but I could sleep in the bed.  Tuesday night we watched Now and Then, which should have been a good movie but it was so terribly horrible instead.  Wednesday the new set of HeroClix came out so I played a three-way game with new figures and won.  A very delicious victory that I pulled out at the very last moment.  Thursday night I left work at 6:30 and drove to Jerry's and we left from there to go to the Radiohead show at the Greek and it was a good show but not the best we've seen.  We got lucky and got out of there quickly then I left from his place and came home.  Bree had been hanging out with Angie for the day and was exhausted by the time I got there so she passed out and I stayed up until someone came to get Angie, around 2.  Friday was the last day in my stint at DD on Flags (though I knew I was coming back the following week).  Six months and not having to work a weekend or more than 10 hours (unless I wanted to), that's not too bad.  There was still work to do so it wasn't a goof-off day but I was getting a few things settled and it was pretty mellow.  I was super-hyper all day but I get that way sometimes.  I left later than I'd meant, around 8, and sat in traffic for a while but got to Perris to meet Brian and Cousin Jason & Nyki and ate dinner very quickly while coordinating our plan for the movie and left there with just enough time to get to MoVal.  We met up with Corey and saw Superman Returns, which I didn't  care for (though I didn't write an extensive review) but we all left and I went to the parents' and went to bed around 3.  I got a full night's sleep there (since Dad wasn't home) and I woke up around noon and gabbed with Mom for a few hours then took a shower and left, coming home just before dusk.  I got with Bree and we decided to have an at-home date night so I got movies and she ordered pizza for dinner and we watched  The Island, which was appropriately bad but we knew it would be, then put on The Producers and Bree fell asleep and I didn't bother with watching the rest of it so I did some computer stuff and went to bed around 3.  Sunday I got up and did more computer stuff, including getting the printer/scanner to work (but not the fax) then watched the part of Hostel we didn't stay for in the theater, then went swimming for a while and I had a headache so we passed out on the floor and woke up at 9 and decided not to go to the club like we'd thought so I installed Photoshop with Duck's help and went about doing some stuff with that then we started to watch Narnia around midnight and Bree wasn't feeling well so she went to sleep and I did yet more computer stuff until around 4 then read and went to bed.

Nineteen weeks ago: Another week, most notable because Bree got fired from her job on Tuesday.  I’m surprised she lasted as long as she did.  But that night we ate dinner and watched Summer School, a favorite of mine though Bree didn’t get it.  Wednesday, Dave beat me in a big game and I got home around midnight.  Thursday night we watched The Chase while eating dinner.  Friday I left work at 5:30 to have dinner with Jeff, who I haven’t seen in years, and his company and we talked a lot, ate food (which wasn’t very good), and Bree was there, then we went to the Galleria and looked at CDs while waiting for the movie then saw Click, then she and I came back home and stayed up for a while, mostly watching Will & Grace.  Saturday I got up around noon and got ready and went to Fry’s but didn’t buy Photoshop.  I came back and we took off for Laughlin, Bree’s idea and she drove, four hours straight through.  We got there and got lucky and got a room at the Colorado Belle, dinner buffet at the Edgewater, then to the Riverside to see a movie (Nacho Libre, which was cute but not what it should have been), then went to the room and watched a movie then slept.  Sunday we got up and ready and out by 11 then went to Harrah’s for an amazing breakfast buffet then to the arcade where we won cheap prizes then wandered around for a while then left, getting stuck in one-lane traffic before Ludlow, where we stopped for ice cream, then a little more traffic coming back and stopped at Bree’s parents’ where we sat and talked with  them until after midnight then left and came home and passed out after 1.

Twenty weeks ago: Monday was back to work.  That night I had an egg salad sandwich that Bree made.  I don’t know if that was me being more adventurous with food or just being starved out of my head.  Tuesday night I came home and Bree had had Angie over so I did some computer stuff.  Wednesday Bree quit her babysitting job.  It had gone well at first but eventually the baby’s temper was getting out of hand and Bree was having problems with her back.  That night I played a game against someone new and won, doing something nice for my self-confidence.  Thursday night Bree was going to go out after work but her friends flaked so we went out for dinner then, unexpectedly, Brian stopped by on his way up north, at 12:30, which meant by the time he left it was 2 and that was late.  Friday after work I went to Priscilla’s to do some writing and was alone for a while when I came home until Bree got back and we talked for a while then left to get Angie, at 2, we realized, then went to the Coral to eat, then got a friend from Bree’s work on the way back and we all hung out at the apartment until after dawn, when I took Bree's friend home and came back and slept.  Bree was gone in the afternoon at a bartending class she was taking and Angie was asleep on the couch so I got some computer time, until Bree came home and I left to get an oil change then came back and we all got ready and went to Bree’s work for dinner then saw Cars then we took Angie back to where she was staying and Bree fell asleep on the way so it was straight to bed when we got back home.  Sunday we mostly stayed in bed until 2 then got up and kinda did a few things, when Bree burned her finger while getting ready and Brian came over on his way back home.  We were here for a while then Brian and I left to get dinner at Killer Shrimp and talked for a while then came back to get Brian’s phone, which wasn’t here since Bree had it so we went to meet her at what we were going to do for the evening but called it off and came back, Bree with Angie in tow, to the apartment to drink Slurpees and watch television, then I had to wake up Bree to get Angie back and I got to bed around 3.

Twenty-one weeks ago: I had the week off.  We were suppose to take a road-trip for Bree's birthday but we ditched it after everything that had happened recently.  I decided to keep the week off anyway since I was getting a little burned-out at work.  I stayed home for most of the time, getting some things done but of course never as much as I'd really like.  Monday Bree came home early from work and we went swimming, got a pizza for dinner and watched movies.  Tuesday I got up later than I'd meant to but drove to Poway to hang out with Brian for the day.  We had the traditional pizza n' beer and talked for a few hours then went to this weird bar for drinks and pool then to some Irish bar for a few more drinks then I came home.  Wednesday I had to get up to go to the clinic with Bree so she could get a TB test; she's terrified of needles but, while it was a traumatic experience, she got it done.  She left for work from there and I went in for my own bloodtest (as part of my physical from the week before) then went home and still felt out of it so I got some rest then put together the new computer desk then biked to the comics shop to play a game against three other guys I've never played and I was out early but it was a good game.  Bree came by the shop for a while to hang out then we came home and I had intended to just take the new computer out of the box but ended up putting it together and getting it running.  Thursday I worked on the new computer (which we got from Dell and really I couldn't be happier with it.  My highest recommendation).  Friday I ran errands, most notably to Fry's, where I bought some new computer stuff, including a massive external hard-drive then got back around 5 and had intended to take a nap, relax, shower, and do a few casual things but instead I was a whirlwind, getting the new computer room (formerly the dining room) ready with the new computer, on which I also hooked up the DSL and got it to work, moving the furniture in the living room (the first time since I moved in six years ago) and making it actually a real living room, doing dishes, cleaning things, and generally getting the apartment in order.  I didn't finish all that until 10:30, when I showered, and just before Bree came home from work but she was too tired to fully enjoy what I had done.  But it looked great.  Saturday we got up and went to the Citadel so Bree could buy some new clothes and we had lunch there and just made most of a day out of it.  We got home and she went to work and I went by our storage for some stuff then the grocery store then came home.  I think Bree went out that night but I don't remember.  Sunday Bree went out with Ashley for birthday-stuff so I had the day to myself, mostly reading the paper and a little bit of computer stuff, then Bree came home, taking the night off work, and we talked for a while before I took a short nap and I got up and we watched the Lost extras then to the Coral for dinner then came home and went to bed.

Twenty-two weeks ago: Monday was off for Memorial Day (or at least I think it was). I went to Ikea and took my time getting stuff, came home with the new shelves and desk then got the old dining room (that was more storage since we didn't dine in it) and took some stuff to the storage place then came back to assemble the new shelving unit then showered and went to bed.  Tuesday and Wednesday were work, and Tuesday night we watched Memoirs of a Geisha.  Thursday and the rest of the week I was off.  I had intended to us it to be in Riverside for Randi's graduation but Bree had to work both of those days and there wasn't much going on there anyway.  Bree stated her new job Thursday so I had most of the day to myself, riding around on my bike, getting a tune-up for ite, to the doctor to get a (unnecessary) physical, then came back home for a while when Bree was here, then out again to get lunch then to the comics shop to play a 2000-point, Hand of God game with Austin which I lost but it was a good time.  Friday I was home all day. I got some chores done, some email, a few things around the house including some rest, then Bree came home then left again for her other job and I got some computer stuff done then later walked to Bree's work and when she was off we went to the Coral for desert then went home.  Saturday we were up at 8 and I drove out to Hemet to take pictures with the family, which was unexpectedly painless, then back to the Harris compound and Bree got there and I mostly played cards with the family for the entire weekend, save for Saturday afternoon when we were at Randi's graduation then the four oldest brothers went to dinner then went by Tom & Tati's house to talk them into coming over to Adam's, where we played more cards and drank a lot and I got to feeling real sick with a pain in my chest that might have been heartburn (or maybe drinking way too much alcohol mixed with way too much sugar).  We stayed there and got up Sunday morning, which was Bree's official birthday but we didn't do much to celebrate it that day.  We went over the parents' around noon for Randi's graduation and Bree had to leave to get back for work so I played more cards, took a nap, and had a mellow afternoon before leaving there to come home where Bree and I were pretty much completely wore-out.

Twenty-three weeks ago: A weird week, even weirder than usual but I won't tell you all the details.  I started on Monday feeling crappy because I was so exhausted but I went home and Bree had ordered dinner so we watched Original Sin, which is god-awful, even with A-Jo's tits, and bed around 2.  Tuesday night I finished my zine and still didn't go to bed early.  Wednesday night I might have played HeroClix but got derailed by a phone call and had a panic attack when I got home but got through it and was okay.  Thursday I left work at 4 to rush to Burbank since Bree went to Urgent Care after having a migraine headache, as it was diagnosed, but we got back home and she started feeling better, especially after I got dinner and we watched Sex and the City and I got a few computer things done and still didn't go to bed before 1.  Friday was some stress in the afternoon but we got to leave work at 5 so I left at 6 to avoid traffic and went to Priscilla's to read for a while then went home and we watched Shopgirl, which I pretty much liked, when it was pretty late.  Saturday we got up and drove out to Claremont for what I told Bree was lunch with my family but was actually her surprise birthday party, even though only Ashley & Mike showed up for it (despite almost a dozen other of Bree's friends saying they would be there).  We made the most of it and had a great lunch then went to hang out unexplainably at Target for a few hours then drove back and I dropped Bree off at work but there was a mix-up and she didn't have to work so she left and we decided to see a movie, not what we'd intended to see but instead Over the Hedge, which was probably as good, then to the Coral for dinner.  Sunday we went to look at a new computer desk and shelves, starting, reluctantly, at Ikea, then to Office Depot, then Staples, then Wendy's for lunch, then back to Ikea, then went back home so Bree could go to work and I had my time (nap, run, dinner, e-mail), then left at 10 to stand in line for X-Men 3, which was good but not great, then back home, late because we could.

Twenty-four weeks ago: Another fairly exhausting week but it turned out okay.  In particular, Tuesday night after work I had to drive quickly (especially after taking the wrong freeway twice) to Irwindale to call AAA for Bree after her car died there on the way back home.  That was dealing with that, getting it towed back to Burbank, then going home and passing out.  That was the whole night.  Wednesday I had to get up early to call the dealership that was going to do the work on Bree's car then we went there and when we were leaving I backed into the bumped of a new SUV and though it was a minor dent, it cost me $400 (even worse when I easily could have just driven away and no one would have known I did it).  So I took Bree back home and I went by the post office and got to work two hours late but no big deal.  That night I went to the comics shop and played HeroClix, with Austin, and we had to call the game early because I had to leave but he had pretty much won.  Thursday night Bree ordered Chinese food and we watched Aeon Flux, which is as bad as you've heard but I got a credit at the end and, to celebrate, we went to the Coral for desert and got to bed later than we should have but it was a good night.  Friday I came home from work and Paul, my brother, was asleep on the couch so I stayed in the bedroom and read the paper until Bree got home and we ate chicken sandwiches.  Saturday we got up and hung out with Paul, went swimming, hung out some more, then Bree left for work so Paul and I took off, going through Hollywood then to Shakey's for dinner then to the place so I could get a ticket for the show then we saw Sparks, Paul's favorite band who were only doing one U.S. show for their tour and it was in L.A.  I didn’t know the band so well but it was a good show.  We left there and got some drinks on the way home and Bree was here with a friend from work so we all hung out and watched the end of SNL and then passed out.  I probably drank too much and slept pretty uneasily.  I got up Sunday feeling kinda crappy but probably better than I should have.  Paul had left already so I went with Bree out to Rancho so she could get another tattoo and that took a while, mostly waiting to get it done.  I was just out of it for most of the day.  I dropped her off at work then went back later to pick her up, pretty much playing City of Heroes between the two.  When she got home she watched Sleepy Hollow while I played CoH then we went to bed around 3.

Twenty-five weeks ago: Another standard week, save for Monday, when we watched Inventing the Abbots, and Tuesday, which I took off so we could go to Vista for Bree’s brother’s court prep meeting (or whatever it was).  That involved us getting up at 5, though Bree drove so I didn’t have to.  I’m not exactly sure what happened in court but Bree talked to his lawyer (a public defender) then we left and drove around for a while before ending up in Oceanside and walked to the end of the pier to eat lunch then came back and Bree had some car trouble on the way but I slept most of the way and we stopped in Norwalk for her to rest.  When we got home I went for a walk to get Slurpees for us then we watched Freaky Friday then Layer Cake and ate dinner then she fell asleep and I put her to bed and played The Sims for later than I probably should have.  Wednesday I went into the comics shop with the intent to play HeroClix but even though I didn’t get into a game I hung out for a while.  Friday I went into Bree’s work to have dinner.  Saturday we got up and Bree left for a job interview in Lancaster and I got a few things done before biking to get my hair cut then went to the comics shop then to Staples then to the park to read and sit in the sun and argue with a squirrel then to Kinko’s for copies then to the bank then home.  We watched parts of The Princess Diaries 2 then got ready to go out on a date night, into Pasadena to Houston’s where we had a very nice dinner then back home and I watched SNL while Bree was passed out and we went to bed around 2, on top of the covers.  Sunday we got up and mostly laid in bed but eventually left to go to the Glendale Galleria so Bree could shop at Victoria’s Secret then we hung out around the mall then hurried home to get Bree to work then I came back and made Mother’s Day calls, take a nap, get a little bit of e-mail done, then went into Bree’s work to get her then we came home and mostly talked and I did some computer stuff and went to bed around 1:30 but didn’t sleep very well.

Twenty-six weeks ago: Monday we were still in Indio so we got up, ate and stopped at Cabazon on the way back but didn’t get anything.  When we got back, Heath and Jerry took off and I ran an errand to the comics store then was with Bree for the night, going to bed a lot later than we should have.  Went back to work on Tuesday and the rest of the week was fairly standard, including Thursday night dinner at the Coral, which became a pretty regular thing for us, a few times a week.  I also got some computer stuff done.  Saturday was not the day we planned but it didn’t turn out badly.  Bree heard about a car in Santa Ana so we went to check it out and she didn’t find the one she wanted but she found another one and she bought it.  It’s a cheapie but it’s enough to get her around for now.  We drove back home and ditched the rest of our plans for the evening and went to dinner then came back home and both of us were hit with a wave of exhaustion.  I had a strange night of sleep, waking up every hour and these weird dreams but oh well.  Sunday we got up a little before noon (later than we’d planned, as usual) and went to Sears then Fry’s, looking for a CD player for Bree’s car, and got one then came back home and I went to Fry’s alone to wait for them to install it, then came back home while Bree got ready and I didn’t have to take her to work.  I did my usual for the evening and was prepared to get a lot done but by the time I was done with preparing, it was time for Bree to come home.  We both left again so she could give a co-worker a ride home, though I drove, and we hung out at her co-worker’s place for a while and talked.  Then we came home and quickly to bed, around 1.
